“It’s very old school to have just one tint and I wanted to add even more colours and finishes to what we have to offer. We have more than 30 different tints for our customers to choose from, which allows them to create their own individual style rather than an ‘off-the-shelf’ product. Our customers can have a truly bespoke pair of sunglasses.” – Claire Gough, CG Optical
Our range of tints is available across most of the lens types that we offer and the colours available are updated regularly to keep you on trend. We offer a spectrum of colours outside of the more regular browns and greys to suit all frame types, making designer sun wear more accessible to prescription lens wearers. Even if you have a high prescription, you can still use the tints and mirror finishes. As well as looking fabulous, tinted lenses also provide many benefits to the wearer. Our tinted lenses reduce glare and enhance the wearers vision during a wide variety of activities.
Different colour tints will affect the wearers vision in different ways. There are gold and silvers – from a mirror gold finish that’s very cool and sporty, to a silver shadow which is one of our favourite colours and looks great with a solid black frame. Silver tints are very neutral to look through, giving you a natural view of the world. Whereas the gold makes everything a bit warmer. So, if you want to see the world through sunny glasses, go for gold. Our tints come in a range of blues too, dark blues through to blues that look a little bit greener. Visually the way you look through a tinted lens affects the way you see the world. Red, yellow, and blue lenses for example can enhance visual acuity and improve contrast, whereas more traditional green and brown tints, provide more natural vision with a slight colour enhancement.
With over 30 different colour tints for you to choose from, in a luxurious frame, you can create your own individual bespoke sunglasses. As well as coloured tints, we’ve got mirrored colours as well. Mirrored lenses are often seen as purely a fashion statement, but they are highly reflective, and reduce the amount of light that enters the eye. Mirrored lenses are excellent for use in conditions with high intensity light, such as skiing and beach holidays. In addition to solid tints, dip technology can also be used to produce graduated tints. In these lenses, the level of light reduction decreases continuously from the top to the bottom of the lens. Graduated lens tints are particularly suitable for where the light conditions change when wearers raise their eyes such as playing golf.
So, pop in, and see us and we can help you design your very own bespoke pair of sunglasses that can’t be found anywhere else!
